Scheduled to take place on April 11-12, 2023, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan,
the Midwest Fire Rescue Expo is a two-day event filled with panel discussions and educational sessions.
This year’s schedule will bring together fire and rescue professionals from the Midwest to share their
experiences and expertise. The expo will cover various topics, including leadership development, incident
command, firefighter safety, and more. Attendees also have the opportunity to hear from industry experts
and leaders who will share their insights and experiences on various topics.

One of the expo’s highlights is the exhibit hall, which features the latest products and services from some
of the top vendors in the industry. The exhibit hall provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn
about new technologies, equipment, and services that can help them perform their jobs more effectively.

In addition to the scheduled panel discussions and exhibit hall, the expo will also feature networking
opportunities so attendees can connect with other professionals in the industry, share ideas, and build
relationships. The networking events include a welcome breakfast, an expo kick-off reception, and other
social events.

Expo Opportunities for Fire and EMS Professionals
The Midwest Fire Rescue Expo provides a unique opportunity for attendees to hear from industry experts,
learn about new technologies and products, and network with other professionals in the industry. One of
the main events features a talk on solar and fire education from Richard Birt, a distinguished 30-year
veteran who retired from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue in 2021.

A longtime renewable energy advocate, Captain Richard Birt founded Solar And Fire Education
(S.A.F.E.), providing free training to firefighters worldwide on how to safely mitigate a structure fire
involving P.V. and E.S.S.
S.A.F.E. also teaches how renewable energy can help communities become more resilient when facing
power outages caused by grid failures from natural disasters and other events.
The expo is open to all fire and rescue professionals, with online registration available through the
Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs website. The full Midwest Fire Rescue Expo event agenda can be
